Once you get an idea of your face shape and you have pictures of your favorite styles, yo will want to consider options that will go with the theme of the prom and your outfit as well! But most of all just consider your personality and what you think you can comfortably wear all night without having to run to the powder room to fix all night. Your evening will be greatly enhanced if you can not have to worry about your hair falling all night!

Deciding on a back braided hair style can hold many options as well. The Edwardian or Edwardian Braid are good styles for thick or thin hair that can be easily braided. It is a little older style, but easy to maintain for the whole evening. The Weave or French Tuck can be great for thicker hair with lots of sculpting mousse or gel, but it may be better left to those with thinner hair because it may require a bit of attention all night if your styling products don’t have the hold you require.

2010 PROM HAIRCUT STYLES TIPS

Prom is an important time in a girls life and having the perfect hairstyle is no exception. It’s best to experiment with what hairstyle that you plan on wearing before the prom so that you will have less trouble fixing it when prom arrives. Hair accessories are a big part of making your 2010 prom hairstyle unique and they can be used to accent your prom hairstyle. Below are just a few suggestions for prom hairstyles for 2010.

Long hair can be created with cascading curls and pulled back loosely at the back near the nape of the neck with any number of hair accessories or pulled up as an updo with curls cascading randomly down the face. Hair accessories can be glitzy hairpins that either add a touch to the hairstyle or tuck and hide extra pieces of hair that have no place to go.

Medium hairstyle for prom 2010 can be worn in a bob style with the bob being parted a little higher on one side at the top and then styled to wear it frames the face with a sleek, smooth look. This is probably one of the easiest hairstyles to create and is perfect for prom 2010.

For girls who are going short in 2010, there are several prom hairstyles that are easy yet elegant. One is to brush the hair from to one side, away from the crown to give a little look of volume. The sides are and back of the hair will appear short and little pieces of hair here and there can be left untouched to give you that wispy but sophisticated look. This hairstyle is perfect if you want to bring attention to the eyes.

These are just a few suggestions for 2010 prom hairstyles and I am sure that you will find a variety that will look great on you once you start experimenting.

PROM HAIRDOS FOR MEDIUM HAIR

2010 PROM HAIRDOS FOR MEDIUM HAIR

Finding the right hairstyle for prom doesn’t have to be a source of frustration, tears, and stress. If you have medium hair, the possibilities are nearly endless for your hairstyles. Medium hair is the best of both worlds. You get the ease of maintenance that comes with short hair, but you are still able to put your hair up, down, or half-up in many different styles like long hair. If you have medium hair, your hair falls somewhere between your shoulders and the bottom of your neck.

A very simple style for prom is to wear you medium hair loose. Part it either on the side or in the center and let it flow down towards your shoulders. Curl the ends so that they just brush your shoulders. If you have bangs, great! Curl them under, sweep them to the side, or even have wispy bangs that just brush your forehead for a beautiful look. This look is soft, touchable, and very feminine. It’s also guaranteed to get you lots of attention from guys, since they love touchable, soft hair!

A great style is a curled ponytail. Brush your hair out until it’s smooth using a boar bristle brush then pull it into a ponytail at the top of your crown – you need to have this ponytail high! Make sure the band matches your hair color if you can. When the ponytail is in place and tight, separate into sections of about .5 to 1 inch and use bobby pins or little clips to hold them. The smaller the sections, the more curls you will have. Use hot curlers to curl each of the sections – smaller curlers for smaller curls, and so on. These will last longer than curls made with a curling iron. Leave the curlers until they are completely cool (as long as possible preferably) and when you take them out let your hair cool for 10 – 30 minutes more. Don’t use a brush! Use your fingers to take each curl and loop it, then pin it with the hairpins that are the same color as your hair. Make sure it holds. Start from the middle and go outwards, because you’ll have more control. Once all the curls are in place, take one and loop around the front to cover the rest – sexy and trendy variation! Spray with a good holding spray and some shine spray. Add any accessories you want for a great look.

Getting ready for the prom can be a very stressful process. You have to find a date, you have to find a dress, and you have to have the perfect hairstyle. You’re in luck if you have long hair, because the styles that you can do are endless. Long hair is extremely versatile, and there is sure to be a great style for any girl no matter what her prom dress looks like or what her personality is like.

One great prom hairstyle for long hair is big, bouncy curls. Curls are always beautiful, and at the prom, you want to be remembered. So why not be remembered for being sexy and gorgeous? This feminine look will suit any style. It also is surprisingly easy to get. Simply blow dry your hair and smooth it. Separate your hair into about 2 inch wide sections. Then just use a curling iron and wind it up to eye level. This will make sure that your hair is curled all the way up and smooth looking. Use a large barreled curling iron to get big curls.

Updos are always great for prom. A romantic twist is a great look to wear that is romantic but not fussy and will suit almost any style dress. To get this look, wash and blow dry your hair and part it on the side. Then, on the parted side, pick up the fringe section (gather about 3 inches of hair.) Twist it backwards and slightly off to the side, using pins to secure it to your scalp. Add accessories such as beaded clips or jeweled pins for some more pizzazz. Curl the rest of your hair, and break it up with your fingers.
